Custom domains
Short-link domains vs publication domains, DNS, and Cloudflare.
Two kinds of domains

Publisher short-link domains
- Add the hostname in Domains.
- Create the DNS records shown (often TXT for ownership + CNAME/A to the platform).
- Verify. Optionally sync via Cloudflare if the platform is connected.
- Set as default or select per link.
Publication domains
- Enter custom domain on the site.
- Validate DNS.
- Deploy (SSL certificate + reverse proxy / nginx).
- Status must be deployed before the Host serves publication routes.
Propagation
DNS can take minutes to hours. Re-run Validate after records settle. Mixed HTTP/HTTPS issues usually mean SSL deploy hasn’t finished.
Fallback
Without a custom domain, short links use the platform redirect base URL configured for the environment.
